Who are you and when were you established?

NYLA Fresh Thread is a men’s quality fashion retailer. We’re located at 206 Commercial Street, right in the heart of downtown Nanaimo. We expect to lead our local market in all areas of business, casual and contemporary menswear, with a price range to fit any budget.

Thanks to your support and commitment, we’ve built a strong following that has allowed us to grow and improve since opening in Fall 2014.

What payment methods do you accept?

NYLA Fresh Thread strives to make payment as easy and accessible as possible for our customers. Our online payment providers are Shopify Payments and PayPal - two of the most reputable and world-renowned platforms. In-store we also accept payments via cash and card (including interac).

What sizes and styles do you stock?

We carry a wide selection of business, casual, and contemporary clothing for men with all different styles. Our sizes range from XS to XXXL, with a variety of fits including long, tall, slim and relaxed.

Whether you’re on the hunt for a unique piece from John Lennon’s dress shirt collection, a comfortable and fashion-forward tee from Superdry, or a cozy and simple sweater from Minimum, we’ve got it all. This includes jeans and other pants from popular brands such as Du/er and Alberto, as well as jackets and accessories like ties and bowties, belts, suspenders, wallets, watches cufflinks and more!

NYLA Fresh Thread represents exceptional quality, well-known, and trusted brands. Our stock changes regularly – as do our displays – so make sure to come by often to see what’s new. And since we love to support local businesses, we choose Canadian brands and Canadian-made clothing as much as possible when we’re stocking our shelves.

Is your retail store pet friendly?

Yes, we love animals of all kinds! You're welcome to bring any pets into our store (even the extra furry ones).

Please note that while our staff love pets, it's always polite to also ask other customers in the store if it's ok before approaching with your pet. And obviously, if your pet is not friendly around other people, our store is probably not the best place for them to be.

Can I also find all items that are online in-store as well?

Yes! All of our online products and more can be found at our Nanaimo store. If you find something online that you like but prefer to shop in-store, feel free to contact us and we can hold the product for you for up to 2 business days.

Our in-store stock is also larger than our online range, so you may find some extra items you wish to purchase by giving us a visit at our Nanaimo location!

How do you choose your brands and products?

We pride ourselves on being a locally owned and operated store, and in the spirit of small businesses everywhere we strive to give our customers the best shopping experience. As such we only choose products and brands that we believe live up to our menswear expectations with regards to both styles and quality.

We also have a strong preference for Canadian brands and Canadian-made goods as we believe in supporting local.

I don’t wear typically male apparel – why should I shop here?

You never know what you might find! We carry a wide selection of items that can cater to many different fashion senses. An oversized sweater can bring a sense of comfort to any person no matter how they like to dress, and our collection of both basic and eccentric socks is sure to find a special place in your heart. A bow-tie can be adorned by anybody trying to create a classic look, and if you’re in the market for a new watch we proudly stock Tense Watches, sustainably crafted from reclaimed wood in Port Coquitlam. And if you’re old wallet is out-dated and falling apart, we carry a variety of quality-forward Secrid wallets, made in Holland and outfitted with the latest RFID technology to protect your cards and cash.

If all this still doesn’t seem like enough reason to stop by, there may always be an opportunity to surprise a loved one on a special day with a high-quality gift. Feel free to stop by and ask our associates to help you choose that perfect piece for that certain person! And if you’re not quite sure what they would like, we also carry gift certificates that can be used in-store at any time.

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! We happily offer free shipping for any orders with over $99.0 before tax.

Simply add the items to your cart and see the discount apply during the checkout process. This applies to all regular and sale purchases within Canada or the United States.

How long will it take to receive my items?

We ship our items directly through Canada Post. If you're located within Canada, we typically estimate you will receive your items within 5-10 business days. All items ship from our retail store at 206 Commercial Street in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

If you need to receive your items sooner, please feel free to email us at contact@nylafreshthread.com or call (250) 716-3331. We may be able to arrange priority shipping for an additional fee.

Can I purchase items online and pick them up in-store?

Yes! In-store pickup is always available and completely free.

Drop by anytime during our opening hours to pick up your items. You can find us at 206 Commercial Street, Nanaimo, BC, V9R 5G7.

Where do you ship to?

We ship our items all across Canada and the United States. We also offer in-store pickup at our Nanaimo location.

If you have an address outside of these locations, please contact us at contact@nylafreshthread.com and we may be able to arrange a special option.

Am I able to return items purchased online?

For all orders, NYLA Fresh Thread happily honours returns in exchange for store credit if a return request is received within 30 days of the item shipping. Feel free to message us at contact@nylafreshthread.com for further information and inquiries.

Do you accept change of mind returns?

Yes! We do accept change of mind returns for all orders in exchange for store-credit if the product is still in brand-new condition with tags, and we are contacted within 30 days of the purchase. Change of mind returns are to be send back to the store at the customers expense.

Do you offer Refunds?

For the most part, our store does not offer monetary refunds on orders. All returns will receive store credit (in the form of digital gift card) or alternative products of equivalent value. Exceptions do apply in certain scenarios, such as you received an incorrect or damaged product.

My product is defective/I have a warranty claim, what do I do?

If, on the very rare occasion, you receive a defective product, please message us immediately at contact@nylafreshthread.com and we will be happy to rectify the situation for you.

For any long-term warranty issues, it's best to contact the manufacturer directly. Feel free to email us if you have any questions about obtaining the correct process/contact information for your specific product.
